Pick Up Only
Pre-Order Deadline: Friday, June 19th
Pick-Up Window: July 6th – July 10th
Since we are working with live biological cycles, arrival dates can fluctuate based on hatching and growth rates. Because these are live insects with a limited shelf life, please ensure you can collect them during the designated week.
Our local species, Hippodamia convergens, offers a powerful, chemical-free way to manage your garden. These natural hunters feast on common nuisances like aphids, mites, and thrips. By introducing them, you aren't just killing pests; you’re fostering a self-sustaining ecosystem and promoting long-term plant vitality without harsh sprays.
Timing is everything. Release your ladybugs during the early morning or at twilight. Cooler temperatures and lower light levels encourage them to stay grounded and start hunting rather than flying away immediately.
Keep your ladybugs in a cool, dark place (like a refrigerator) to maintain dormancy until you are ready. When you arrive at your garden:
Lightly mist your plants with water.
Gently place the ladybugs near the base of plants showing pest damage.
Avoid releasing them during high winds or under the midday sun.
Encourage your new "garden guardians" to stick around by providing:
Hydration: A shallow dish of water with pebbles for them to land on.
Food Variety: Plant nectar-rich blooms like yarrow, marigolds, or daisies.
Safety: Eliminate the use of chemical pesticides, which can harm these beneficial insects.
